Inspiration. What to look for?
Everyone has their own way of finding inspiration. There is no "right" way, and your methods may vary from project to project or day to day. Some days I browse Dribbble, other days I take really long showers they say that's the best place to think waiting for something to click.
During this "inspirational period", is there something in particular we should be looking for? I have found several methods that work depending on the design's goal, but my favorite and most successful is to find that "center of attention" element. Look for something that will represent the goal this design is trying to accomplish. Take that element and build off of it. Slowly add elements where needed. Then, use that center piece as your source of inspiration.
Finding inspiration doesn't have to be difficult. Use it to get you started. After that, trust your imagination. Thinking is the hard part, designing is the easy part.
